The Kodiak bears of Rostock Zoo are world famous. Since 1956, when they first came to Rostock, 85 have been born and raised here. Offspring of Rostock Kodiak bears can be found in many zoos worldwide. Nowadays, they have two specimens which alternate in the outdoor exhibit because the male bear is a bit too impetuous for the elderly female. Although the latter, born in Rostock, returned from Tallin Zoo, to keep the male company. The video shows some feeding enrichment (which includes some training exercise). As the animal is a bit slow lately, this specific food contains medication and some additional nutrients according the zookeeper.
